White water rings on wooden tables happen when moisture gets trapped under the finish. Instead of covering them with placemats or replacing the table, you can fix them quickly using simple household items.
Step 1 – Assess the Damage
Before you start, check that your table has a white water ring, not a dark stain. White rings mean moisture is trapped in the finish — these are easier to remove.

Step 2 – Use Heat to Draw Out Moisture
Place a clean white cotton cloth over the ring.
Set an iron to a low heat setting (no steam) and gently move it over the cloth for 5–10 seconds at a time. This heat will help release the trapped moisture.

Step 3 – Make a Simple Oil & Vinegar Mix
Mix equal parts olive oil and vinegar in a small bowl. This blend helps restore the wood’s natural oils and evens out the finish.

Step 4 – Apply and Buff
Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and rub it onto the affected area in the direction of the grain. Buff until the ring blends into the rest of the table.

Step 5 – Enjoy Your Restored Table
After a few minutes of buffing, the white ring should disappear, leaving your table looking polished and refreshed.

Extra Tips:
- Always test on a small hidden area first.
- Avoid using harsh cleaners — they can damage the finish.
- Use coasters to prevent new rings from forming.
